Summer signing Ilan Boccara from PSG was brought as a player for the future. The 19 year old has been training in the youth team for a number of weeks, and already caught the eye of Frank de Boer and his management team.
De Boer says “I’ve seen Iian three or four times now at Ajax and he’s worked really hard and made a good impression on all of us. His passion and enthusiasm is fantastic and the drive to succeed and learn, you don’t always see in players”.
Despite the departure of Vurnon Anita and the imminent transfer of Theo Janssen, it is unlikely that Boccara will soon become part of the first team.
De Boer wants to let Boccara learn about Ajax and the processes that this amazing club have to develop players. But he has no doubt that the 19 year old will have a bright future in Amsterdam, and we will see him as a first team player soon.
Ajax paid 500,000 euro’s this summer from French club PSG.
