Boilesen gets call up for Danish national team

Nicolai Boilesen on Tuesday got recalled for the first time in imagetwo years to the Danish national team. The left back has had serious hamstring injuries which has kept him out of action for the past two seasons. The Dane is over the moon with the recall “I have fought hard to come back after my injury and I am pleased to have been selected again as well as pride”
“It’s a nice reward for all the hard work I’ve made to come back,” “I’ve had a very good conversation with Morten Olsen and we’ll talk when we approach the game with Poland.”

Blind and Veltman sign contract extensions

Ajax players Daley Blind and Joël Veltman completed their new contract extensions today.

Blind, born March 9, 1990 in Amsterdam, comes from the Ajax academy.image The left-footed international has played 98 official matches in the first team of Ajax, he has scored two goals. The new and improved contract started on July 1, 2013 and runs until June 30, 2016.

 

Veltman, born January 15, 1992 in Velsen, also comes from the Ajax imageacademy. The right footed central defender has played 11 official matches in the first team of Ajax. The new and improved contract started from July 1st 2013 and runs until June 30, 2017.

Joel Veltman out for 1-2 months

Joel Veltman suffered a bad injury during a match in the Jupiler league. imageThe injury to the right knee was strained and possibly torn aswell. The signs show it’s not ligament injury. But the injury will keep the young defender out for 1-2 months.

Ajax 3 Roda JC 0

Champions Ajax kicked off the new Eredivisie season in style as they beat Roda JC 3-0 in the Dutch capital.image

Although very early days, this was as strong a signal as Frank de Boer’s men could have sent out that they will not be relinquishing their title easily.

It took just eight minutes of the fresh campaign for them to take the lead, with Holland defender Ricardo Van Rhijn doing the deed.

Siem De Jong, who remains with the 32-time champions despite continuing to court overseas interest, added a second on the half-hour to put the game to bed.

And, although the pace slowed a little after that, a third goal arrived seven minutes from time when Viktor Fischer opened his account for the season.

Ajax beat AZ Alkmaar 3-2 in the Johan Cruyff Schaal

Siem De Jong scored in extra time to earn Ajax the first piece of imagesilverware of the new Dutch season as they came from two goals down to edge out AZ Alkmaar 3-2 in the Johan Cruyff Schaal.

The KNVB Beker holders looked to be on course for victory when Johann Berg Gudmundsson gave them a 52nd minute lead which was doubled by Aron Johansson in the 68th minute.

But an own goal from Jeffrey Gouweleeuw a minute later gave Ajax a route back into the match and the Eredivisie champions made the most of it by adding an equaliser from Kolbeinn Sigthorsson six minutes later.

Ajax then completed their comeback 13 minutes into extra time thanks to De Jong’s header to secure the Super Cup for the eighth time in their history.

Liverpool bid 21 million for Eriksen

Reports are circulating that Liverpool have started with a 21 million imageeuros bid for Christian Eriksen. Liverpool have always been mentioned about being interested in the Ajax star. Interest from AC Milan is known but the Italian club need to sell before they can buy. Coach Frank de Boer was hoping to keep the Danish star for the new season, and has said it’s up to the Dane where he goes next.

Christian Eriksen rejects move to Bayer Leverkusen

Christian Eriksen has rejected a move to the Bundesliga with Bayer imageLeverkusen, the Ajax midfielder’s agent has confirmed.

Leverkusen were keen to recruit the Denmark midfielder, widely regarded as one of the best young players in Europe, but saw their advances rebuffed.

The Bundesliga side were reportedly willing to offer Eriksen a lucrative contract but the 21-year-old is adamant he will only leave the Amsterdam ArenA for a club at which his sporting ambitions can be met.

His agent Martin Schoots told Voetbal International: “Christian will only leave Ajax on sporting grounds, that’s his main criteria.”

Zenit St Petersburg have also tried without success to lure Eriksen to Russia, while Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested.
